The 1945–46 Oklahoma A&M Aggies from Oklahoma State University were on a high when they won their second NCAA championship in a row. Oklahoma A&M changed its name to Oklahoma State in 1957. This is a story about how a replacement team captured the Mountain States Conference championship and its only national championship. The Arkansas Razorbacks team was debilitated by an auto accident prior to the NCAA tournament, and had to withdraw. In need of a replacement, the NCAA committee turned to Utah, and the Utes won the tournament.
